What if I don't have an engraving machine?
Don't worry, we'll walk you through all the different options out there (at various price points), and help you make an informed decision on which engraving machine you should invest in.
Where can I buy the supplies that I will need?
We both have Amazon storefronts where you can shop our favourite supplies, which we will link to in the course. If you prefer to shop at local art stores (which we love to see!) We will provide a detailed shopping list for you.
Do I need to already know how to do calligraphy?
For this course, yes, as will be teaching calligraphy engraving specifically. If you haven't learned calligraphy yet, take our Beginner Calligraphy Course and then come back here when you're ready!
Is the course live or pre-recorded?
All videos are pre-recorded so you can work through them at your own pace.
How can I apply what I learn in the course in my real life?
Most of our students go on to work with luxury brands on in-store product personalization campaigns. You can also work with high end wedding clients to create special keepsakes, or create custom, heirloom-style products in an online shop. (Or, you can also just engrave for fun!)
About Your Instructor: Sylvia
Senior Strategist at a Digital Marketing Agency by day, Calligrapher & Educator by Night, Sylvia has built a successful side hustle that rivals many full-time entrepreneurs’ wildest dreams. Sylvia first learned calligraphy so she could personalize a leather jacket for her wedding in 2016. This resulted in her viral “Just Married Jacket” project, which was featured everywhere from newspapers to national television. She teaches modern brush pen calligraphy with the hopes that her students fall in love with lettering as obsessively as she did.
Through her business Via Calligraphy, she has taught calligraphy to over 1000 students, and become a go-to luxury calligrapher for brands like Jimmy Choo, David Yurman, Salvatore Ferragamo, Max Mara, and many others.
About Your Instructor: Jodi
Jodi is a lifelong artist who has been creating and teaching under the umbrella of her art & calligraphy business Someday Art Co for over 5 years. She has taught hundreds of students everything from the basics of lettering, to how to define their calligraphy style, to how to start their own thriving businesses.
She first learned calligraphy in 2015 when she took an 8 week Copperplate Calligraphy class and fell in love with the art form. She has since developed her own signature modern romantic style of script, despite her traditional background. Her teaching style is approachable and fun, so students walk away with confidence and a passion to keep practicing.
