What if I have terrible handwriting?
Don't worry, handwriting has nothing to do with ability to learn calligraphy!
Where can I buy the supplies that I will need?
We both have Amazon storefronts where you can shop our favourite supplies, which we will link to in the course. If you prefer to shop at local art stores (which we love to see!) We will provide a detailed shopping list for you.
How much time will I need to do this course?
Our goal is not to bog you down with tons of course content or weeks of assigments you'll never finish, while still providing a comprehensive calligraphy education. So you should be able to work through the entire course in an evening or two, then how much time you spend practicing and honing your skills is totally up to you! You can also watch the videos in the class as many times as you want or need.
Do I need to know anything about calligraphy?
No! This is a total beginner course, so no prior knowledge is required.
What style of calligraphy will I learn?
You will learn a simple modern calligraphy style.
How can I apply what I learn in the course in my real life?
You can use your new calligraphy skills to create cards, gifts and more for your friends & family, you can address envelopes beautifully, and much more. Many students have even kickstarted their own creative businesses!

About Your Instructor: Sylvia
Senior Strategist at a Digital Marketing Agency by day, Calligrapher & Educator by Night, Sylvia has built a successful side hustle that rivals many full-time entrepreneurs’ wildest dreams. Sylvia first learned calligraphy so she could personalize a leather jacket for her wedding in 2016. This resulted in her viral “Just Married Jacket” project, which was featured everywhere from newspapers to national television. She teaches modern brush pen calligraphy with the hopes that her students fall in love with lettering as obsessively as she did.
Through her business Via Calligraphy, she has taught calligraphy to over 1000 students, and become a go-to luxury calligrapher for brands like Jimmy Choo, David Yurman, Salvatore Ferragamo, Max Mara, and many others.
About Your Instructor: Jodi
Jodi is a lifelong artist who has been creating and teaching under the umbrella of her art & calligraphy business Someday Art Co for over 5 years. She has taught hundreds of students everything from the basics of lettering, to how to define their calligraphy style, to how to start their own thriving businesses.
She first learned calligraphy in 2015 when she took an 8 week Copperplate Calligraphy class and fell in love with the art form. She has since developed her own signature modern romantic style of script, despite her traditional background. Her teaching style is approachable and fun, so students walk away with confidence and a passion to keep practicing.
